Special Invitations & Scholarships

We are excited to announce that IGNIS SCIENTIA Season 2 was a massive success. A total of 118 teams from 35 top schools in Chennai competed and 53 teams made it to the finals
Note: 1. The first 10 teams will get a direct invite to Ignis Scientia Season 3’s finals, a 50 % scholarship to Competitive Exam training programs provided by Competitive Edge, and access to our student community benefits like workshop access, career counseling, etc.
2. The next 10 teams (11 to 20) are eligible for scholarships and student community benefits.

Stage1: Innovation Stage & Video Submission​

Objective:
Teams must Lreate a video (maximum 7 minutes) that explains their innovative idea for solving one of the real-world problems provided by the Lompetition. The idea should be Lreative, feasible, and relevant to the selected problem.
Rules:
1.Team Formation:

  • Each team must Lonsist of 3 to 5 students and a mentor.
  • A school Lan enroll as many teams as desired, but eaLh team must Lhoose a different problem to solve.

  • Teams must register by the deadline using the offiLial registration link below

2.Video Requirements:

  • The video must not exceed 7 minutes.
  • The video should Llearly outline the problem, the proposed solution, and the idea’s potential impaLt.
  • The video must be original, with all Lontent Lreated by the team members.
  • Teams Lan use any method (e.g., animation, live demonstrations, storytelling) to present their idea Creatively.
  • All sourLes must be Lited if external information is used-z

3.Submission:

  • The video should be uploaded to a Google Drive and sent to the offiLial mail ID on or before the deadline.
  • A brief desLription (150-200 words) of the idea and the problem being addressed should aLLompany the submissionc

Scoring Criteria:

1.Problem Understanding(20):

  • How well does the team understand the real-world problem they are addressing?
  • Is the problem Clearly explained in the video?

2.Innovative Solution?(40):

  • How innovative and original is the proposed solution?
  • Does the idea represent a novel approach to solving the problem?

3.Feasibility (20):

  • Is the proposed solution realistic and implementable?
  • 2 Does the team consider potential challenges and how to overcome them?

4. Presentation Quality (10):

  • How effectively does the team communicate their idea?
  • Is the video clear, well-organized, and engaging?

5. Team Collaboration (10):

  • Does the video demonstrate effective teamwork?
  • Are multiple team members involved in presenting the idea   

Advancement to Stage 2:

  • The top teams, based on the scoring criteria, will advance to Stage 2. Teams will be notified via email and provided with further instructions.
  • All students from the qualifying team will win medals and certificates
  • All participants will receive a participation certificate
Note: Participants from teams that qualify for Stage 2 will be required to pay an entrance fee of 300 INR per student.

Stage2: Live Pitch & Prototype Presentation

Objective:
Teams that advance from Stage 1 will further develop their idea and create a working model, prototype, or app. They will then present their project live to a panel of esteemed judges.

6. Cybersecurity

Rules:
1. Project Development:

  • Teams must develop their Stage 1 idea into a tangible project (e.g., a working model, prototype, or app).
  • A detailed project brief (500-700 words) must be submitted by the specified deadline, outlining the development process, challenges, and the final solution.
  • The project should demonstrate significant progress from the initial idea and show how it could be implemented in the real world.

2. Pitch Requirements:

  • Teams will have 10 minutes to present their project and a 5- minute Q&A session with the judges.
  • The presentation should demonstrate the working model, prototype, or app.
  • Teams are encouraged to use visual aids, slides, or any other medium to enhance their presentation.
  • The presentation must focus on the real-world application of their solution and its potential impact.

3. Judging Panel:

  • The judging panel will consist of scientists, mathematicians, educationalists, and entrepreneurs.
  • Judges will assess both the presentation and the project’s feasibility, innovation, and impact.

Scoring Criteria:
1. Innovation and Originality (35):

  • How innovative and original is the project?
  • Does the solution represent a novel approach to solving the problem?

2. Feasibility and Implementation (25):

  • Is the project technically feasible?
  • Can the proposed solution be realistically implemented?

3. Impact and Relevance (20):

  • How significant is the potential impact of the project?
  • Does the solution address a pressing real-world issue?

4. Presentation Skills (10):

  • How effectively does the team communicate their ideas?
  • Is the presentation clear, persuasive, and well-structured?

5. Team Collaboration (10):

  • Does the team demonstrate strong collaboration and teamwork?

Awards and Recognition:

The top three teams will be awarded the following:
  • 1st Place: ₹50,000, trophy, and medals
  • 2nd Place: ₹25,000, trophy, and medals
  • 3rd Place: ₹15,000, trophy, and medals
Additional special awards for exceptional creativity, innovation, or social impact may be given.
